CultivatePeople
Founder: Lola Han
Description: CultivatePeople’s compensation software, Kamsa, provides global market pay rate data and helps companies make data-driven salary decisions so they can attract and retain their most valuable asset: employees.
Why GCP: “CultivatePeople began using GCP when integrating SSO/SAML authentication after our SaaS product became a high priority. We were able to exceed our clients’ expectations and increase their level of trust in our platform’s capabilities. We’re currently investigating additional machine learning products, such as Cloud AutoML, that will allow us to quickly deliver exciting features.”
Note from the Founder: “I grew up with immigrant parents who value stability and are risk-averse. My parents discouraged me from starting my own company because they didn’t want to see me struggle financially or see my health suffer (due to stress). I felt strongly about what CultivatePeople could do, so I started the company as a sole founder in 2017 and watched it double in size year over year since. While the ones I love most may not have cheered me on initially, it was important for me to hang on to the encouraging words of former bosses, executives, and founders to keep me focused on my mission.
My advice for other AAPI founders is to be a “silent assassin” and believe in the mission and values of your organization. Always remember to stop along the way and:
1) Enjoy the journey by celebrating wins and giving yourself credit;
2) Follow your intuition—it’s (almost) always right;
3) Recognize and invest in your people regularly (ie. give increases more than once a year, if warranted);

Swit
Founder: Josh Lee and Max Lim
Description: Swit is a team collaboration platform that seamlessly combines team chat with task management by allowing teams to turn their conversations into trackable tasks and share tasks to chat with simple drag-and-drop functionality, ensuring everyone is on the same page and projects get done faster.
Why GCP: “Swit is a cross-category hybrid work tool for chat and tasks. This functionality requires more complicated and heavier architecture for performance. So, configuring and managing virtual machines was really challenging to scale up our systems, while handling occasional unexpected traffic surges and frequent updates. Eventually we divided our monolithic architecture into 35 microservices when we launched our official product. The migration to GKE took around one month, and it turned out to be well worth the effort—our systems became able to offer high scalability and enough resilience to keep its uptime no matter what happened. Now we’re operating 84 workloads and 252 microservices with high stability with remarkably low downtime – less than 0.00001%/year.”

AgroStar: Small farms in India getting big help from the cloud

AgroStar has launched a cloud-based mobile app that is helping to boost crop yields and encourage best practices for small farmers in India. Launched as an on-premises ecommerce platform selling farm tools in 2008, the firm turned to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to expand its offering. It now uses cloud-based analytics and is deploying ML models to provide timely advice in five languages on everything from seed optimization, crop rotation, and soil nutrition to pest control.
A 2018 survey underscored the demand for agricultural planning for Indian farmers. While farming remains a dominant sector in India, employing half of its labor force, 70 percent of small farmers – those cultivating fewer than three acres – said their crops are damaged by unforeseen weather and pests. An even higher number – 74 percent – say they lack access to farming-related information.
Widening that gap is the relative lack of access to new, higher yield seeds and improved soil analyses for small farmers, who must otherwise rely on traditional methods. “It could take a few years for innovative information to trickle down from universities to small, grassroots farmers,” says Pritesh Gudge, AgroStar Software Engineer. “Today, just by clicking through our Android application, farmers learn about new, effective farming practices and receive advice customized to their crop and soil.”
Connecting a million farmers in the cloud
Operating in the Indian states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Orissa, Bihar, and Karnataka, AgroStar is closing the knowledge gap with a full-service, cloud-based SaaS solution – the only one of its kind in India. It combines agronomy, data science, and analytics to help farmers by providing a variety of resources.
AgroStar has reached over a million farmers through its Android app, the AgroStar Agri-Doctor. The mobile client is available as a web-based or full-featured native app. Both provide access to the firm’s knowledge base hosted on GCP, a Q&A forum that connects farmers to each other to help understand and better solve problems and to learn about innovative practices and products. Farmers can also click through to follow local and national market trends that help forecast crop prices.
In addition to the self-service knowledge base, AgroStar provides access to agronomy experts who use cloud-based analytics tools and historical data to provide season-and locale-specific advice to each farmer. “We are now tracking thousands of calls in 5 languages each day,” says Pritesh.
The AgroStar app also provides links to purchase and then track the delivery of farm tools and supplies such as cultivators and fertilizers. An in-house platform manages fulfillment centers and a doorstep delivery network simplifies the supply chain while giving farmers what they need, when they need it. By procuring directly from the manufacturers and primary distributors of farm supplies, Agrostar is achieving cost savings, which it passes on to farmers.
Build fast, pivot faster
From the start, the human and environmental variables of farming in India, not to mention the volume of AgroStar’s few hundred thousand monthly active users, made a highly scalable cloud-based solution inevitable. Farmers rely on the firm’s Agri-Doctor app to provide advice in multiple languages on topics that range widely throughout three growing seasons, each with distinct crop nutrition and rotation cycles and farm implementation requirements.
“For farmers, the focus keeps changing every month, and every season,” says Pritesh. “To serve our growing community, we needed a platform that could process images at high volume, fulfill tools and seed orders across thousands of miles, and respond to multilingual queries. We quickly moved away from spreadsheets and server-based solutions – we needed to build fast and pivot faster.”
Ending late-night deployments
The firm’s first cloud experience was with an AWS solution. At the time, AWS was the only cloud provider in India, but AgroStar wanted to find a solution that was easier to use and offered better integration with Android devices. “Deployment and processing costs were very high, and the developer tools and documentation were not as intuitive as we needed,” says Pritesh.
When GCP service arrived in India in October 2017, AgroStar embarked on a platform re-implementation that made possible dramatic changes in the way it developed and deployed its solution. Using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for crop advice management and Compute Engine for its production application services, the firm built the backend for the Agri-Doctor discussion forum in only three weeks. The platform’s microservice architecture is implemented in Python and Golang and deployed on GCP.
AgroStar began to realize significant efficiencies in its build, deploy, and test cycles. “We previously needed to work overnight to deploy to production,” says Pritesh. “Now using Google for Kubernetes containers and a rolling update strategy, we can deploy during the day without any problems or interruptions to service.”
The move to GCP streamlined AgroStar’s stack. “We were running 12 independent instances on AWS,” says Pritesh. “With Google Kubernetes Engine, we are deployed on a single cluster at a cost savings of $1,300 per month and growing.”
Improving customer response times by 85 percent
With a managed deployment capability, AgroStar can devote more time and resources to executing on its platform and Agri-Doctor app development plan. A strategic goal was managing customer response times as the firm grew its base. GCP has helped the firm meet that goal, achieving an 85 percent improvement in customer response times even as traffic grew significantly.
“With our on-premises solution, we could handle around 100 customers daily, which took 30 to 50 minutes for each customer,” says Pritesh. “We now handle thousands of customers daily, taking only 4 to 5 minutes for each one.”
AgroStar used Firebase to implement its Agri-Doctor app. A real-time cloud database, Firebase provides an API that enables the Agri-Doctor advice forum to be synchronized across all its far-flung mobile clients, effectively sharing knowledge base updates with one million users in near real time.
Using cloud tools to manage and monitor
Cloud Pub/Sub, Kafka, and Cloud Dataflow manage data ingestion and queueing of event and transaction data to the analytics layer. BigQuery fetches and persists data to Cloud Storage. Cloud SQL and dashboards powered by Tableau deliver farmer crop and soil profiles within minutes.
Cloud IAM helps AgroStar control access to all its cloud resources. And Stackdriver, the integrated logging aggregation capability for GCP, helps monitor and speed debugging on every tier of the AgroStar solution.
Machine learning to enhance yields
AgroStar is developing a variety of ML components to improve responsiveness and extend its platform offerings.
To speed up the diagnosis of and treatment for crop blight, AgroStar is building a deep learning pipeline using TensorFlow. The pipeline relies on GoogLeNet models that use multi-layered convolutional visual pattern recognition. It will assess uploaded images to support a disease-detection capability on the mobile app. Based on the commercially successful AI algorithms that automated postal code processing, GoogLeNet offers improved performance and computational efficiencies by using a creative layering technique that distinguishes them from older, sequential recognition engines.
To improve its customer search experience, AgroStar is developing an ML pipeline that shrinks fetch times by suggesting tags mapped to stored data. Processed using TPUs, Cloud Natural Language and Video AI, the tags provide a metadata layer that supports queries in any of the ten natural languages that AgroStar farmers can use.
The AgroStar search pipeline consists of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models of Recurrent Neural Networks. Recurrent networks exhibit “memory” through iterative processing and are distinguished from feedforward networks by a feedback loop connected to their past decisions, ingesting their own outputs moment after moment as input.
Implementing a recommendation engine
The firm is also adapting the Random Forests TensorFlow AI model to develop a crop and product recommendation engine. The model is trained by consuming numerical (rainfall, humidity, water availability per acre) and categorical (soil type, water sources) parameters to suggest appropriate products by season, region, and locale.
To simplify the product suggestion experience, AgroStar developers are testing Cloud Dialogflow, the Google Cloud conversational interface, to build a chatbot capability into its mobile app. The bot will track a farmer’s crop schedules and answer simple questions by linking to the recommendation engine.
AgroStar is also extending its analytics platform with AI-powered sales planning and forecasting. Using linear regression models implemented in TensorFlow and powered by Cloud ML Engine, the capability will enhance supply chain logistics as the company scales its operations across India.
To provide a credit on-demand offering for a range of seed-to-harvest cycle products, AgroStar is attempting to use Vision API to create an AI model that will convert uploaded photos of customer application records into standard data formats. The firm’s credit policy features a grace period in which farmers begin paying back loans after harvested crops go to market.
A versatile and friendly development ecosystem
AgroStar credits the convivial tools and documentation that GCP offers and its incremental, pay-as-you-go pricing model for both the firm’s success and its ability to manage growth.
“What Google Cloud offers is extremely good documentation and extremely simple-to-use tools and interfaces across all services,” says Pritesh. “It helped us initially deploy our platform and at every scale that we have required since then, and its cost effectiveness enabled us to staff up to meet new feature milestones.”
How the Telegraph is Reimagining Media with Google Cloud

Whether they’re reading the newspaper on the way to work, or catching up on the latest headlines on their smartphones, readers expect up-to-the-minute news wherever and whenever makes the most sense for them. As a result, media companies are increasingly looking for ways to improve, expand, and simplify their offerings, and they’re increasingly looking to the cloud to do it.
For more than 160 years The Telegraph has been counted on by readers across the United Kingdom and globally for award-winning news and journalism. An early adopter of cloud technology, it’s been a G Suite customer since 2008 and has already been using Google Cloud Platform to analyze digital behaviors to improve engagement and advertising performance since 2016.
Recently, The Telegraph announced it’s migrating fully to Google Cloud. By migrating all their production and pre-production services, they aim to deliver content faster, provide compelling experiences to readers, and reduce environmental impact.

Powering the Digital Publishing Ecosystem
The Telegraph produces large volumes of digital content every day. It was imperative for them to find a cloud provider they could trust to support this ecosystem. By working with Google Cloud they have changed the way they see and engage with data: they can collect new information about their products every second and use that to continually hone their strategy. The Telegraph are placing more confidence and trust in the data captured about their content and now have one of the best available pieces of technology for capturing and analyzing the stories they publish in real-time.
Leveraging AI to support journalists
Time is critical when journalists are on a story, and The Telegraph wants to put important data in the hands of its journalists right when they need it. To do this, it will be using AutoML to classify content for journalists and make it more discoverable. For example, a reporter will be able to bring up relevant assets that link to their stories. It will also apply AutoML to classify Telegraph stock photos to help journalists attach compelling visual content to their stories faster.
Building compelling reader experiences with the help of APIs
Readers have an ever-increasing expectation of personalization. To meet this need, The Telegraph launched My Telegraph, currently live in beta, to offer registered readers personalized news experiences based on their interests or the particular journalists they want to follow. Working for environmental good
The Telegraph is the biggest selling quality newspaper in the UK, an accolade which requires it to print and distribute hundreds of thousands of copies each day. Optimal management of print production is important, and by using a combination of the cloud and machine learning, The Telegraph is better able to predict demand for physical newspapers, maximizing sales and minimizing waste. This makes great business sense for The Telegraph but also has great environmental benefit.
Custom Voice Feature Can Help Brands Tweak IVR for Better Customer Experiences

With the rise of digital assistants and conversational interfaces, people have grown accustomed to hearing and speaking to synthetic voices. But what do those voices sound like? Often, pretty repetitive. We’re all familiar with the Google Assistant voice, for example.
That’s why we are excited to announce the general availability of Custom Voice in our Cloud Text-to-Speech (TTS) API, a new feature that lets you train custom voice models with your own audio recordings to create unique experiences.
For businesses looking to build a strong brand identity, establishing a unique voice can help turn mobile app interactions or customer service based on interactive voice responses (IVR) into differentiated customer experiences. Our TTS API has included a speech synthesis service with a static list of voices for some time, but now, with Custom Voice, moving beyond these predefined options is easier than ever.
Custom Voice lets you simply submit your audio recordings to get access to the new voice directly in the TTS API. Custom Voice TTS includes guidance on the audio requirements to help make sure you generate a high quality custom TTS voice model. Once this new model is trained, all you have to do to start using the newly trained voice is reference the model ID in your calls to the Cloud TTS API.
At Google, we are committed to building safe and accountable AI products, not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because it is a critical step in ensuring successful use in production. As part of Google Cloud’s Responsible AI governance process, we conducted a deep ethical evaluation of Custom Voice TTS, and its relation to synthetic media, in order to surface and mitigate potential harms that it may create. If you are interested in Custom Voice TTS, there is a review process to help ensure each use case is aligned with our AI Principles and adequate voice actor consent is given.
Additionally, to verify that voice actors are actually the ones producing the audio, you will need to submit an audio file producing a sentence that Google Cloud chooses (for example: “I agree that my voice will be used to create a synthetic custom Text-to-Speech voice).

How APIs Help Financial Services Firms Enhance Digital CX and Increase Revenue

Faced with changing customer behaviors and demands, tightening margins, and increasing threat from digital competitors, financial services institutions (FSIs) will need to meet customers where they are, open up their services, and establish new ways to monetize their products. Doing so will also enable them to build a better profile of their customers, and deliver more personalized user experiences and fast, convenient banking and payment services. Cloud technology plays a big role in this shift toward digital FSIs.
In Asia, bank branches now account for just 12% to 21% of monthly transactions in the region, with customers turning to digital channels for routine transactions such as peer-to-peer transfers and bill payments, according to McKinsey&Company. Overall customer engagement has climbed from an average 12.7 to 14.9 transactions a month in Asia’s developed markets, and from 6 to 8.1 in emerging markets.1
Fueled by growing smartphone adoption, the evolving customer behavior and momentum toward digital platforms have enabled digital-first players to snag a growing piece of the banking pie.
McKinsey estimates that digital banking penetration has grown an average of 97% in Asia’s developed markets, and 52% in emerging markets, with between 30% and 50% of those that have yet to use digital banking likely to do so.
Consumers now are more than ready to make the switch to neobanks, or digital banks. In Singapore, 63% are open to banking with digital-only players, according to a Visa study. On what will entice them to do so, 63% point to bill payments while 56% will use neobank services to make payments at retail outlets. Furthermore, 54% prefer digital banks for the convenience they offer while 52% like the faster service.
Among those who are open to digital banks, 60% will move some services from their current bank to these new players even if the latter have no prior banking experience. One in five of respondents say they are willing to switch all services to a neobank.
The same is true for small and midsize businesses (SMBs) in Singapore. According to a separate survey by Visa, 88% of these companies will consider moving some services to digital banks.
Driven to do so by their frustration over a lack of quality corporate products and control of their banking experience, 55% of SMBs believe neobanks will help bring down overall banking costs. Another 54% say digital banks offer greater convenience, while 53% point to greater ease in paying bills online.
These stats should worry even established FSIs, especially those that have not done quite enough to open up their service ecosystems and drive innovation through APIs.
An API toward new revenue
While most banks have active APIs, the services that some of them currently provide are just functional; they’re the means to an end for partners to obtain their targeted products and services. Without knowing, consumers use these types of APIs indirectly by using their favorite applications every day—a payment processing API will enable them to purchase their lunch, while a loan application API will get them that dream home.
But while banks do not always own the customer journey, they still can find opportunities to sell their products via partners. Many leading banks are leveraging key technologies, such as API management, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics to embed digital banking into consumers’ everyday lives, including groceries, travel, entertainment, healthcare, and food delivery.
When traditional banks open up their APIs to third parties offering broader services that pull in unique services into their own apps, they then become plugged into the broader customer journey. This helps boost usage of their services and embeds them in the overall customer experience. It also provides aggregated data that will help banks build richer consumer profiles, and deliver more personalized products and services.
APIs also create equal opportunities for smaller participants to be involved in the financial services ecosystem, potentially creating micro-segments that previously may not have existed. With insufficient demand within a closed system, to justify the provision of such services, some customers in these micro-segments have previously been left unserved. The APIs, which facilitate collaboration between the different micro-segments so they can be commercially viable, help assuage this problem.
Some banks are also opening up APIs to allow access to datasets that enable businesses to trigger automated workflows and enhance their operational efficiencies. Others, such as Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Bank BRI) have generated new revenue by leveraging Google Cloud’s Apigee to manage their API lifecycle and identify new revenue opportunities.
Apigee’s monetization feature has helped Bank BRI realize $50 million in revenue and enabled the bank to define its pricing based on API calls and automatically bill based on usage.
In addition, the Indonesian bank uses the data analysis alongside Google Maps Platform to score its customer base of 75.5 million, and identify those who can be recruited as BRILink agents for underbanked areas. These agents are customers who maintain a minimum balance of $800 USD and score high on reliability.
The appointment of branchless agents via the Agent BRILink app has pushed the loan volume from the bank’s branchless business to $26 billion in 2018, up from $15 billion the year before.
How banks can get started with APIs
Clearly, there are new revenue opportunities for banks to leverage the data they already have. Here are some tips to help FSIs kickstart their API journey:
- Align with internal leadership growth initiatives. Leverage executive key performance indicators around growth and cost savings to foster a culture that offers APIs to micro-segmented markets with an eye on cultivating a healthy financial services ecosystem.
- Productize APIs with a strong value proposition. Starting with an API-first approach, stock the shelves of your API shop with new services and a strong inventory of APIs that will entice third parties (i.e., retailers, telcos, etc.) to start using them. This customer-first, outside-in approach will serve as a strong base to build on and enable the addition of more APIs as adoption grows.
- Actively nurture a developer community. A properly trained API manager will ensure constant contact with the developer community, and that partners are provided with case studies to help them identify viable use cases for your APIs.
- Leverage security as a strategic enabler. Security is a key enabler of the API economy, and most API security postures are defensive. By leveraging deep security tooling together with strong identification of developers, banks can better track information and data usage offensively.
FSIs also need to avoid some common pitfalls, such as overlooking the need to continuously improve their APIs. If no one is using it, the API clearly is failing to provide any real value to third-party developers.
In addition, efforts should be made to market the APIs and let developers know what is available. A common mistake FSIs make is assuming their work is done once their APIs are released and neglecting the need to carry out community outreach and marketing to generate awareness about the APIs.

They had multiple recommendation systems in place and were also extensive early adopters of Recommendations AI, which already enabled them to offer personalized content in places like their homepages, product detail pages, and their newsletter.
But those same systems sometimes made it difficult to understand how best to combine and optimize to create the most personalized experiences for their shoppers. Their requirements were threefold:
- Personalization: They have over 12 recommenders they can display on the app, however they would like to contextualize this and choose different recommenders (which in turn select the items) for different users. Furthermore they would like to exploit existing trends as well as experiment with new ones.
- Latency: They would like to ensure that the solution is architected so that the ranked list of recommenders can be retrieved with sub 50 ms latency.
- End-to-end easy to maintain & generalizable/modular architecture: Digitec wanted the solution to be architected using an easy to maintain, open source stack, complete with all MLops capabilities required to train and use contextual bandits models. It was also important to them that it is built in a modular fashion such that it can be adapted easily to other use cases which have in mind such as recommendations on the homepage, Smartags and more .
To improve, they asked us to help them implement a machine learning (ML) contextual bandit based recommender system on Google Cloud taking all the above factors into consideration to take their personalization to the next level.
Contextual bandits algorithms are a simplified form of reinforcement learning and help aid real-world decision making by factoring in additional information about the visitor (context) to help learn what is most engaging for each individual. They also excel at exploiting trends which work well, as well as exploring new untested trends which can yield potentially even better results. For instance, imagine that you are personalizing a homepage image where you could show a comfy living room couch or pet supplies.
Without a contextual bandit algorithm, one of these images would be shown to someone at random without considering information you may have observed about them during previous visits. Contextual bandits enable businesses to consider outside context, such as previously visited pages or other purchases, and then observe the final outcome (a click on the image) to help determine what works best.
Creating a personalization system with contextual bandits
While Digitec Galaxus heavily personalizes their website homepages, they are very very sensitive and also require more cross-team collaboration to update and make changes.
Together with the Digitec Galaxus team, we decided to narrow the scope and focus on building a contextual bandit personalization system for the newsletter first. The digitec Galaxus team has complete control over newsletter decisions and testing various ML experiments on a newsletter would have less chance of adverse revenue impact than a website homepage.
The main goal was to architect a system that could be easily ported over to the homepage and other services offered by Digitec with minimal adaptations. It would also need to satisfy the functional and non-functional requirements of the homepage as well as other internal use cases.
Below is a diagram of how the newsletter’s personalization recommendation system works:

- The system is given some context features about the newsletter subscriber such as their purchase history and demographics. Features are sometimes referred to as variables or attributes, and can vary widely depending on what data is being analyzed.
- The contextual bandit model trains recommendations using those context features and 12 available recommenders (potential actions).
- The model then calculates which action is most likely to enhance the chance of reward (a user clicking in the newsletter) and also minimize the problem (an unsubscribe).
Calculating whether a click was a newsletter or an unsubscribe enabled the system to optimize for increasing clicks and avoid showing non-relevant content to the user (click-bait). This enabled Digitec Galaxus to exploit popular trends while also exploring potentially better-performing trends.
How Google Cloud helps
The newsletter context-driven personalization system was built on Google Cloud architecture using the ML recommendation training and prediction solutions available within our ecosystem.

The architecture covers three phases of generating context-driven ML predictions, including:
ML Development: Designing and building the ML models and pipeline
Vertex Notebooks are used as data science environments for experimentation and prototyping. Notebooks are also used to implement model training, scoring components, and pipelines. The source code is version controlled in Github. A continuous integration (CI) pipeline is set up to automatically run unit tests, build pipeline components, and store the container images to Cloud Container Registry.
ML Training: Large-scale training and storing of ML models
The training pipeline is executed on Vertex Pipelines. In essence, the pipeline trains the model using new training data extracted from BigQuery and produces a trained, validated contextual bandit model stored in the model registry. In our system, the model registry is a curated Cloud Storage.
The training pipeline uses Dataflow for large scale data extraction, validation, processing, and model evaluation, and Vertex Training for large-scale distributed training of the model. AI Platform Pipelines also stores artifacts, the output of training models, produced by the various pipeline steps to Cloud Storage. Information about these artifacts are then stored in an ML metadata database in Cloud SQL. To learn more about how to build a Continuous Training Pipeline, read the documentation guide.
ML Serving: Deploying new algorithms and experiments in production
The training pipeline uses batch prediction to generate many predictions at once using AI Platform Pipelines, allowing Digitec Galaxus to score large data sets. Once the predictions are produced, they are stored in Cloud Datastore for consumption. The pipeline uses the most recent contextual bandit model in the model registry to evaluate the inference dataset in BigQuery and give a ranked list of the best newsletters for each user, and persist it in Datastore. A Cloud Function is provided as a REST/HTTP endpoint to retrieve the precomputed predictions from Datastore.
All components of the code and architecture are modular and easy to use, which means they can be adapted and tweaked to several other use cases within the company as well.
Better newsletter predictions for millions
The newsletter prediction system was first deployed in production in February, and Digitec Galaxus has been using it to personalize over 2 million newsletters a week for subscribers. The results have been impressive, 50% higher than our baseline. However, the collaboration is still ongoing to improve the results even more.

The use of contextual bandits in the targeting of our recommendations enables us to pursue completely new approaches in personalization by also personalizing the delivery of the respective recommender to the user. We have already achieved good results in our newsletter in initial experiments and are now working on extending the approach to the entire newsletter by including more contextual data about the bandits arms. Furthermore, as a next step, we intend to apply the system to our online store as well, in order to provide our users with an even more personalized experience. To build this scalable solution, we are using Google’s open source tools such as TFX and TF Agents, as well as Google Cloud Services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Machine Learning Engine, Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Dataflow.”—Christian Sager, Product Owner, Personalization ( Digitec Galaxus)
Since the existing architecture and system is also dynamic, it will automatically adapt to new behaviours, trends, and users. As a result, Digitec Galaxus plans to re-use the same components and extend the existing system to help them improve the personalization of their homepage and other current use cases they have within the company. Beyond clicks and user engagement, the system’s flexibility also allows for future optimization of other criteria. It’s a very exciting time and we can’t wait to see what they build next!
